1. Overview
By placing a pre‑order with Reed Hobbies (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to the following Pre‑Order Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all pre‑order products listed on reedhobbies.com.au and operate in addition to our standard Store Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
2. What Is a Pre‑Order?
A pre‑order is an advance purchase for an item that is not yet in stock. Pre‑ordering reserves your item from our incoming shipment. Payment is taken at checkout to secure your allocation.
3. Estimated Release & Arrival Dates
- All release dates and arrival windows are estimates only and are provided by suppliers or manufacturers.
- Delays may occur due to manufacturing, shipping, customs, or distributor issues.
- Reed Hobbies is not responsible for delays outside our control.
- We will update customers if significant changes occur.
4. Payment
- Full payment is required at the time of placing a pre‑order.
- Your order is not confirmed until payment has been successfully processed.
- Prices are locked in at the time of purchase unless a pricing error is discovered.
5. Cancellations (Customer‑Initiated)
You may request cancellation of a pre‑order before the item ships.
However:
- A 20% cancellation fee may apply to cover payment processing and administrative costs.
- If the item is already shipped or allocated for dispatch, cancellation may not be possible.
6. Cancellations (Store‑Initiated)
We reserve the right to cancel a pre‑order if:
- The supplier reduces our allocation
- The product is discontinued
- The product becomes unavailable
- A pricing or listing error occurred
If this happens, you will receive a full refund.
7. Pre‑Order Allocation & Stock Shortages
Pre‑orders are fulfilled in the order they are received.
If our supplier short‑ships or reduces stock:
- Customers with earlier pre‑orders are prioritised
- Later orders may be delayed or refunded
We will notify affected customers promptly.
8. Mixed Orders (In‑Stock + Pre‑Order Items)
If your order contains both in‑stock and pre‑order items:
- The entire order will ship when all items are available, unless you choose to split the shipment.
- Additional shipping fees may apply for split shipments.
9. Price Changes
If the manufacturer or supplier changes pricing before release:
- We will honour your pre‑order price unless the change is due to a clear pricing error.
- If a correction is required, you may choose to pay the adjusted price or cancel for a full refund.
10. Refunds
Refunds for pre‑orders follow Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a refund if:
- The product is cancelled by the supplier
- The product arrives faulty
- The product is not as described
Change‑of‑mind refunds may incur a cancellation fee (see Section 5).
11. Shipping
Once the product arrives at our warehouse:
- Orders are processed in the order they were received
- Standard dispatch times apply
- You will receive tracking information once shipped
Shipping delays after dispatch are the responsibility of the courier.
